When can kids have a pillow

Question

I have a 16 month old.  He doesn’t have a pillow in his crib. But when can he get one?  I have not thought to ask his pediatrician yet. Just thinking about when.

Please nobody attack me, but we got my son a pillow when he turned one. We started with a small pillow pet and then transferred to a regular pillow after a month or so. He’s 16 months now. He’s so obsessed with pillows.

My daughter will be 2.5 in December and just started showing interest in a pillow.   I got it off Amazon and it's by Clevamama.  There are other toddler pillow options.

Our 17 month old won't be getting a pillow or a blanket until she's 2 years old. They're not necessary for a good night's sleep and at that age, they only pose a risk. Not worth it to me.

I gave him a pillow around 20 months. He’d been using his stuffed animals as pillows for months before that.

My son is two, we gave him a pillow and a blanket a few months the ago, but he doesn’t use either 🤷🏻‍♀️

At a year ours got blankets at 2 they got pillows.

I never used a pillow till I put him in a toddler bed a couple weeks before he turned two and we use like the flattest pillow for him. I think he would’ve been fine if we gave him one earlier but it didn’t seem necessary to me and he was sleeping fine without it

My son is 20 months and still doesn’t use a pillow. He seems comfortable without it. I may try after he’s 2 and see how he likes it. I have no idea what the recommended age is though, sorry!
