Alternatives for carrying baby in car seat?

I’ve seen recently in the news & otherwise that you aren’t supposed to use your car seat to carry baby around (in the store & such), as the position they are in isn’t necessarily ideal. I was wondering what you other mamas had in mind for carrying baby in public places that ISN’T the car seat?

It's perfectly safe to use your infant car seat. The problem arises when you allow your baby to sleep in a car seat, especially for long periods of time. For quick outings, our daughter stayed in her car seat which clicked into her stroller. For grocery shopping, she went into a shopping cart hammock. Other than that, you can always wear them. I wore our daughter only a handful of times because it wasn't a habit I wanted to start.

Baby carrier. My son slept so soundly in the carrier when he was a baby. Plus we had all the room in the cart for groceries instead of his car seat.

Car seats and strollers are fine on the go. Once the car seat is placed on the ground, the angle is incorrect leading the baby to possibly tip its head too far forward causing asphyxiation. Check your labels. Make sure your car seat is angled properly in your car. I’m almost positive it’s fine In the stroller. I just don’t leave him on the ground in it for any length of time.
