Comments welcomed!

My oldest sister passed away in 2015 and my mom got guardianship over her 6 children. My mom also works overnight from 11pm-6am. My little sister is going to Job Corps on Tuesday and my mom has no one to stay there with the kids. My mom called me on Saturday and asked if I would be willing to stay there overnight and the state would pay me as their babysitter. She wanted me to talk it over with my husband first who works as an electrician during the day.

I go to school full time during the day and I don’t work. My husband has been telling me how I don’t pull my weight around the house because I don’t bring in any money. And he always comments on how I shouldn’t be tired because I don’t work. So I thought this would be a great way to make money while not having to put a toll on school. I told him about it and he is totally against it. He doesn’t want me gone during the night because that’s the only time we really get together. I wouldn’t even feel right leaving my nieces and nephews hanging though. Should I take my mom up on the offer or stay home overnight? Suggestions welcomed ladies!

Edit: I just wanted to clarify a few things ladies. I never required payment and wouldn’t have brought it up. My mom offered payment through the state. My nieces and nephews are worth more than any paycheck. The paycheck is just a bonus saying that I’m not working.

Secondly, this wouldn’t be for one night it would be every night my mom works which is Sunday-Thursday night. So like a regular overnight schedule. Except I’m at my moms house. Which I told him he could come sometimes too but he declined.
