When can I give my LO fruit purée?

Zeke is 3 months old now and I can’t help but feel bad when he is constantly staring and leaning into our food as if he wants some! I wonder if I can start blending some steamed apples and pears for him?
He started with rice cereal and moved to wheat a month ago. He already drinks apple juice as well. —— all of this approved by his pediatrician.

Their digestive tracts aren’t fully developed. It can be harmful! No need to feel bad, if anything id feel bad giving my kid food too soon.

6 months or later. He's getting everything he needs right now and will until after he turns 1. Babies at that age are just starting to become interested in their surroundings. It's a normal part of development and does not mean he's ready for solid foods yet.

If you think your baby is ready for it then go for it. You said he’s sitting up and showing interest. My baby started eating apple purée and apple/banana purée at 3 months and he’s perfectly happy and healthy. You do what you think is best for your bubba, everyone is different ❤️

3 months is to early.  4 is ok but 6 is recommended by my pediatrician. I also would not recommend starting with fruit. The sugar in it will make veggies way less appealing.

While I disagree that you -have- to get the ok from your pediatrician first, I would certainly ask them first. Typically, babies shouldn't have anything but breast milk or formula until they're 6 months old. Some peds say it's okay to start at 4 months. 
We're waiting until our LO is 6 months and is showing signs of being ready to eat food (can sit up unassisted, has shown interest in food, etc).
