Opinions on NuvaRing?

My gynecologist recommended it to me, but I'm not really sure how I feel about it.

I'm worried it will cause cramps (sometimes tampons make me have horrendous vaginal cramps), and that my partner will be able to feel it. In addition, I was severely depressed when I was on the pill for 6 months...

Do you guys have any thoughts/experiences with it?

Love it! I have been on it for 5 years. Short periods, few cramps, and not as moody- coming from the pill I was very moody awful cramps. On rare occasions my husband can feel it but not often. Also I love the convenience of not remembering a pill everyday!

It's worth a try. If you don't like it, take it out. Simple as that.

I was on it a few years ago. My first form of birth control. It worked very well, i didn't have many side effects. My periods weren't as crampy or as heavy and my partner never felt it. My skin cleared up as well. I guess you would call those positive side effects? Lol. Only thing that happened was that I began to feel more depressed, but I am actually not sure if it was because of the shitty guy I dated at the time or the birth control. I would just try it.

I was on Nuva Ring for 3 months and never had a problem with it. It fell out once during sex but was really easy to slip back in. I just remember it making it want to itch my insides. I unltimateally stopped because I got a blood clot in my leg from it and can never go on any kind of hormone. As long as you've had your blood tested, don't worry about it. Thankfully NuvaRing has one of the lowest doses.

Tampons make my cramps excruciating but I have not had this issue at all with Nuvaring. However, the first few days after I inserted my first ring I felt very naseous. I'm still only on my first ring so can't really give any input on long term use.

There must be a reason your gynecologist is recommending it. If you don't like it you can just stop using it, so what's the problem?

I tried it for a while and was pretty satisfied overall but ended up switching back to my normal pill because I felt like my period cramps were slightly worse.. It was so convenient though! I would probably try it again.
