When is it ok to tell your family and friends?

So I'm almost 5 weeks pregnant and wanted advice. I was thinking of waiting until after my first ultrasound at 7.5weeks to share the news with my family and then telling friends at the beginning of second semester. This is my first baby.. Thoughts???

With my first, we told everyone immediately! I'm about 5 weeks now and my husband abs I each told 1 person but everyone else will wait till 2nd trimester

I'm 4 weeks tomorrow and told our parents, my friend, hubbys best friend and wife and another close friend couple. We like the support but will make the major announcement at 12 weeks. My boss also knows as I had to take a day off for my first prenatal appointment in September and I'm a teacher who won't be able to finish the school year so she needed to know. She's very supportive.

I'm 6 weeks today and both my husbands and my close family know, and we've told a few close friends. We've been through 2 miscarriages and if it were to happen again we'll need the support. I even told the ladies I work with because it's easier if a miscarriage does happen and you have to miss and things. But we are keeping it a secret from everyone else till I'm out of the 1st trimester

I've told friends that live near me since we don't live near our families but since our miscarriage at 17 weeks last year we are waiting until almost 20 weeks before we tell the families. My mother knows and my husbands sister knows but nobody else in the families know.

I'm waiting until well past 12 wks to tell close family. I had 2 miscarriages over a decade ago and I don't want to tell this wonderful news only to have to take it back if we miscarry again. It's so painful to have to un tell literally everyone you told before. Also a lot of people aren't very understanding or sympathetic about miscarriage.

We told some of my family and a really good friend and her family. Other than that we will wait until after my first appointment, which is at 12 weeks, to announce it publicly.

As far as family, we told 2 of my 4 sisters, my mom, my dad and his girlfriend, and my aunt.

I am doing the same thing. We are waiting to tell our parents and siblings after my 8w check up then waiting until 12 weeks. I just feel like I want to wait Bc I feel like if everything looks good after my first appointment I'll be more sure and more excited to tell our close family.
