Similac and constipation?

Hi mamas, my one month old can go a couple days without pooping.  Our pediatrician said it's because I breastfeed him (but we also give him formula). But my relatives say it's because of the formula. Any suggestions? Maybe switch to a different formula? I don't produce enough milk that's why we do both.

Perfectly normal (for both feeding methods) for baby to go a couple of days without pooping. I've had my kids on 3 different formulas. My son went a week once. My daughter hasn't gone more than a couple of days but they have both gone without pooping. I have personally noticed it more with formula than breast milk. Just because it takes longer to digest.

So for breastfed or formula fed babies a normal poop schedule could be 7 times in 1 say or 1 time every 7 days. My pediatrician was explaining to me that almost anything is normal as long as the baby isn't having hard ball poop. If its soft they are fine. 👍
