C section? Or another vbac
Would really love to hear experiences from anyone been in a similar situation...
Currently pregnant with baby no 3 🤰
Just had my consult appointment due to previous PPH (1.6l) and retained placenta - with my Vbac (second baby) plus 2 Blood transfusions 🤦🏼♀️
Have been told it’s completely my decision to choose elective c section or another vbac this time round and all the risks for each have been explained. I think the c sections generally carry more risks.
I’m higher risk of another pph and retained placenta so if I choose to go naturally they will prepare for it but it still won’t stop it from happening.
my issue being is that my last labour was under 2 hours long, it took 40ish mins to get to Hospital! So assuming I have another very fast labour, it could all be a huge rush and lead to not being very prepared at all and the thought of having placenta removed/blood transfusions and loosing large amounts of blood isn’t very appealing. It’s was a rather traumatic experience, except the easiest labour and birth! All this happened during the third stage of labour!
I’ll also add I had a emergency c section with my first baby, no complications with that at all, but obviously recovery took longer.
I’m so undecided and want the safest option, I still have a while to decided but would love to hear from anyone been in a situation like this?? 😊
