How did you tell your partner?

My husband and I have just started our TTC journey. How did you tell them? Did you have something already prepared and held on to it? Did you plan it once you found out and just waited till it was perfect as it could be? Or you just couldn't wait and just told them with what you have.

Our daughter was unplanned. My husband just left to go trapping for the winter when I found out. He would come back into town every few days so I waited until I knew he was coming back and I had our dogs tell him. I made signs that they had around their necks. He was in total disbelief up until the first u/s.

When I first found out I told my boyfriend but sadly I ended up having a chemical pregnancy in early October

Well... bub was unplanned, in a very awkward time for the both of us. I took my nephew to the store to grab a digital test to confirm, and a baby outfit, went home, confirmed it and told my parents before I left again that afternoon. We were planning to meet up for yoga anyway, so I got him early to tell him. Didn’t believe me 😂
It took a doctor appt and an U/S for it to set in for him hahah. 
As much as I would’ve preferred things to have been different, so that I could plan something cute, I knew that his reaction would be awkward considering our circumstances so I just planned accordingly.
Despite all that, we are happy as can be :) and he’s glad I didn’t make a “massive deal” out of it, since it’s not his thing. Xx

We always test together, for support and comfort if it’s a negative and deciding next steps (testing again in 1-3 days etc), or for sharing the unbelievable joy of flipping over the stick and seeing the glorious BFP together. He waits outside the bathroom while I pee and counts 5 seconds (so romantic) then we place the test face down, set a timer for 3 minutes and walk away. Then we flip it over together and react accordingly! I wouldn’t have it any other way, the idea of testing without him there makes me feel sad to my core 😪 obviously different for people with deployed or long distance partners etc, but if we were still international long distance when we started planning TTC around our trips together, then I would have done the tests over Skype.

I had something planned down to the last detail, but when I took that test I panicked and texted him in the middle of him working.
