Tips on getting rid of fleas?

My cat got out the other day and came home with fleas. I’ve frontlined him, gave him dawn baths, and been combing them out to keep them at bay. But they still show back up! I vacuum frequently as well. I’m annoyed.

U can get spray for ur house that will kill them. U can also use table salt sprinkle it on Ur carpets and furniture. Wait a couple days and vacuum everything again. And do the bath every other day until u get it under control

Sprinkle salt over carpets if u have carpets and let it sit a minute then vacuum. That's what my nana always did. And my mom says bathing them in vinegar plus the dawn helps as well. Or put vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray them once a day. It doesnt kill them tho only repels. Fleas are a bitch.

Fleas are becoming resistant to frontline so unfortunately that doesn’t always work now. If you bathed within a couple days of putting the frontline on it won’t work at all, the topical flea meds you usually have to wait a few days before bathing. I used raid flea spray for my carpets and house when my cat got fleas, and I also got a pill from the vet which worked so fast!! Good luck, I hate fleas!

Use revolution, bravecto, or comfortis (from vet). You can also use the seresto collar in addition to the prescription treatments. Use something like flea busters on the house and yard. It can take MONTHS to have completely gone because their eggs can lay dormant for long periods of time. You have to treat both the cat and the house/yard or it may not go away.

I have the same issue. I have to have carpets as part of my tenancy. I have tried lemon because Fleas don’t like that. I have put flea spray over the house two or three times. My cats are regularly treated and bathed... I cant get shot of them...
My cats are indoor cats too so I really don’t get where they come from. Anytime I find one I kill it.

I tried lots of things when my cats had them and the pills i got from the vet did wonders. They are flea free thanks to those. Other than that i tried combing, showering with a anti flea shampoo, had a thing u put in your vacuum cleaner and vacuumed everything. Flea collar.. Idk if there was more, but my point is, pills from the vet fixed it for me.

Some fleas are resistant to common meds like frontline, advantix, etc is what my vet said. I have dogs, not a cat but it’s probably the same how that works. I got a natural flea killer spray for the yard and around our doorways and got better flea meds for my babies
