Let me just start off by saying I work 3rd shift as a front desk clerk at a hotel. Im like 80% positive that the bar, located directly above the office, is haunted. I often hear footsteps abobe me and find shoe prints that dont match my shoes in the wet floor after I've mopped. Ive never had an uncomfortable feeling until tonight. So I've been slightly on edge. We often have pipeliners who come in from out of town and stay months at a time. There is only one parking spot right in front of the doors were I usually go to smoke, if I feel like I need one, which isn't often. Since winter is also around the corner, we often have homeless try to sneak into rooms on the property so I stay close to the door, in view of cameras, with both my phone and the store phone on me at all times, and the front door propped open in case of an emergency and I need to get back in quickly.

So I step outside for two minutes and the wind and rain has picked up so the shadows are flying and I keep a conscious lookout the entire time I'm out there with my phone in hand. In the only parking spot directly in front of the door. I'm out there maybe 15 seconds, when the car parked in that spot starts automatically. I think nothing of it until it's running for several minutes and it shuts off. Weird.

A few seconds later I hear one of the doors upstairs open and close and go back to my paranoia. I'm almost done and get ready to walk back inside when I take a final look around the opposite side of the building. And car the car horn goes off and I nearly sling all my stuff up into the air and jump and turn around so fast I nearly lose my balance.

Turns out dude was carrying down laundry and hit his keys with the bag, but it was enough to make me need to pee.
