When did your doctor say you could get pregnant again?

Just had my 6 wk pp visit and the nurse practitioner said I should wait a year to get pregnant. My friend's doctor said she didn't have to wait at all at her follow up visit (although she knew she HAD to get a c section for the next baby whereas I might try a VBAC). I'm curious to know what everyone else was told? We don't really want to wait a year to start trying again. Thanks!!

For VBACS you should Give yourself At least 18 months, it takes your body 2 years at least to get back from having a baby...

I had a c-section &  Dr told me to wait 18 months - not only for scar to heal but for body to replenish  everything it needs in order to provide a healthy environment for next baby. Hope this helps!

My doc wouldn't consider a vbac for pregnancy less than 18 months apart as there is more of a chance for uterine rupture.

My doc said to wait 2 years before my next csection.  I followed her directions well...my 2nd is due a few days after my sons 2nd bday! (Haha-not really, we tried for a little while and it just worked out that way)

My doctor said at least a year as well.
I'm due in 9 days and my son will be 2 in December.
She said the reason they tell people that is to give your idly time to recover from the c section

you should wait at least 6 months to let your body build back up. If you want to get pregnant soon, continue prenatal vitamins. Also you need to consider any complications you had that your friend didn't. Every pregnancy is different.
