My daughter was exposed to strep throat. She suddenly became sick this morning. She had 2 rapid strep tests one at walk in and one in e.r. because her temp got up to 105. Both came back negative. They did other tests and everything was good. Doctor said it may be viral but do not give antibiotics until we know for sure if its strep throat. But before this, at the walk in clinic, PA said she definetly looks like she has strep even though her rapid test failed. So she prescribed antibiotics. Waiting for the culture but it takes 2 days and I'm worried for my daughter who is 2 because strep can really hurt a child and I am just worried about waiting. The doctor said the rapid test is 85% accurate, but when I looked in her mouth and googled strep throat it looks like one of the pics with the red dots. What do you guys think?
