Baby Shower or Not To Baby Shower?

I’m about 7 weeks pregnant with my first little one. Haven’t even been to the doctor yet. And I’m already worried about the baby shower.

I live in a small town, in the middle of nowhere, at least 2,000 miles from any family or friends. My boyfriend, however, has made some friends out here. He’s been here longer. Still, his family is also 2,000 miles away.

I don’t know what to do. I don’t know who I’d invite. I’m not that close to my coworkers and I feel like the only reason I have acquaintances out here is solely because they’re friends with my boyfriend.

I miss my friends, I miss my family. But I don’t want to miss out on the baby shower. I want my little one to look back at photos and see they were celebrated before I’d even held them.

Any ideas???
