Should I tell my catholic boyfriend that I'm pan(or bi)sexual?

I want a monogamous relationship with him, but I just worry that I'm keeping something from him. It's never come up when we've talked since I've never had a serious relationship with a girl. He is not homophobic, but I still think his religious background might affect his reaction if I told him

This is not only about being comfortable with him, but also about being comfortable with yourself. Being open about how you truly feel will build that trust between you. If it feels wrong to you that you haven't said something yet, then that is because you already know that you want to tell him and share that part of yourself with your partner. Being a California girl who was raised Catholic, I can understand your apprehension here. The last thing you want is judgement, or for this to be a deal breaker to him. I think you will feel so much better once you do open up to him about this, and open it up for conversation in case he has questions. He might need time to process what you are saying before having a conversation. But definitely tell him in person. Your partner should understand and accept you and love you as you are entirely. He should love you as your whole self. If he can't accept that due to his upbringing then it's his loss. Don't be afraid to stand tall and hold true to who you are.

Full disclosure is usually the best policy.  The primary concern, of course, is whether you can be faithful to your man.  If you cannot, gracefully end the relationship.  If you can keep the faith, your personal preferences should not matter as monogamy would preclude acting on those preferences.

On a side note, if your relationship involves premarital sex, your boyfriend is committing the sin of fornication by his own faith, and under Old Testament doctrines, you would already (technically) be married.  Mazel Tov!

I'm a pansexual woman who's also atheist and liberal.. My SO is a straight man who's catholic and republican. And it's been the best relationship I've ever been in. If he can't accept you for who you are and you can't be honest with him, it's not going to work in the long run either way.

I would say you're never really  obligated to come out to anyone, ever, it's totally up to you if you want to come out to him or not. I get where you're coming from, I feel like if he's a decent person he'll be able to accept you for you without necessarily erasing or disregarding your bi/pansexuality.
