Idk if this is the place to post this but i wanna vent! So this lady is NOT our landlord she just collects the rent for the leasing company and my rent is due every 5th of the month (day we moved in) my bf and I rent this house and we got paid on the 6th, so we sent her a txt asking to come then. She responded by saying we need to pay $50 late fee for only being 1 day late! She is always charging us a late fee whenever we get paid day after rent but when ever she cant pick up the rent for few days its ok. So i asked for a copy of the lease agreement so i can see what the grace period is because its ridiculous that i get charged that when i have a legit reason since i get paid after rent! (But keep in mind i don't always get paid day after its only sometimes) so I asked for it on fri She couldn't do it but said for sure monday, then she said she had an emergency, ok fine understandable she says tuesday she will drop it off. Come tuesday she tells me a lie that her supervisor was knocking for 20 mins but no one answer and he didn't feel comfortable leaving it in the mailbox .. thing is i was home all day waiting in the living room no one came, i told her via text that no one came to the house and she then says she can email it to me today (wed) and drop a copy off on Thursday. She then calls me saying they see no point of giving me a copy when one was given a year and half ago since it expired this may which i didn't know anyways i still haven't received anything and the whole point is, is that i think she is stealing the money and doesnt want to get caught. California tenant law states that i can ask for a copy every year regardless if it expired or not and they have to provide it, but she won't! any ideas so i don't have to make it sound all threaten like??
