My now ex boyfriend and the father of my child were driving around two weeks ago and we got in a huge fight about him being unfaithful. He pulled over on the side of a somewhat country road and walked around the car and pulled me out of the car and threw me on the ground and started kicking and punching me. He then got back in the car and pulled away and drove off. I started freaking out and called him and told him to bring me back my daughter. He turned around and i could hear him speeding back to me. He took my daughter out of the car and kinda slammed her car seat on the ground. It was raining and i can’t believe this “man” left me and his daughter on the side of a country road. I called my dad and he came and got me. all of my family says i need to cut all ties with him. I want nothing to do with him but i don’t want my daughter growing up without a dad. someone give me advice please.

edit: i gave a report to the police and they told me it up to me on what i want to do. i can do nothing or get restraining orders
