You have to have heart problems to have a heart attack or massive heart attack right?

I know they are other factors that causes them and I have no family history of heart problems. I'm 31. What causes heart attacks in young people?

No. My mother had a heart attack at 35 and  the doctors weren't able to figure out any reason as to why she had it

I'd think that the problems would be there but they can hide and he undiagnosed. Your cardiovascular system would obviously be unhealthy to get to that point. I'm not a doctor, though.

In young people (anyone below 40) most common culprits are: 
Drugs like heroine, crack, meth, speed... etc 
Too many energy drinks. Yep. Seen it happen so many times. 
Race. Yep. African Americans are more likely to have a heart attack than any other race. And even more likely are male African Americans. I have seen a 18 yo boy out playing basketball with his friend got brought in for chest pain, he was having a heart attack. 
And last but not least. Family history. If you have a family history of young family members having heart attacks or dying from heart attacks this increases your risk.

No technically anyone is at risk for heart attack. I have a heart murmur that comes and goes but I have normal cholesterol, awesome blood pressure and all my blood work always comes back spectacular! I’m very fortunate I don’t have any other heart issues I’m 19 and I’m overweight for my height. My goal is to loose weight after my baby is born 🙌🏻

Other undiagnosed conditions can cause it.  Stress unhealthy lifestyle smoking poor diet.  All these things can contribute

There’s a reason they call it “The silent killer” most people have no idea that they have heart disease until its too late. You can be any age, if your diet is high in fats and animal protein your arteries will have a buildup of fat and cholesterol, which will restrict blood flow.
