🚨Smear Test🚨

Today I went for my first smear test. I was really anxious about it as I’ve heard through the grape vine various horror stories of how much it hurts and how uncomfortable it is...

So this morning my stomach was in knots as I got ready to do to the doctors, checked in, and sat anxiously and waiting for my name to be called. I entered into a room and two friendly, smiling nurses greeted me and we had some casual chit chat.

I awkwardly laid on the bed and one of the nurses started talking to me whilst the other did she what she needed to do. It was literally over in under a minute!

If I’m completely honest, the only bit I found a little uncomfortable was when she opened up the plastic tube whilst inside but that was it, a little stretching at most.

I can’t stress to you all how quick and easy it was to get done and how shocked I was at how much it DIDN’T hurt.

So many woman avoid getting their smear done and I can’t encourage you all enough to just bite the bullet and get it done. What’s a few seconds worth of at most a tiny bit of discomfort to avoid what could be lurking internally if untreated.
