Induction?

Are you allowed to ask to be induce a week before your due date? Obviously you can ask whatever you want lol but would they automatically say no to that? I'm on so much pain and can barely walk. Please keep the judging comments to yourself. At this point my baby is fully cooked and way to comfortable I there lol

Usually on your first child, no doc will induce before 40 weeks without medical cause. On sequential pregnancies, they can induce at 39 weeks.

At least this is what my doc told me a couple weeks ago when we were chatting about inducement.

Obviously if you can, wait it out but I know it's miserable those last couple of weeks! Hang in there mama!

You can ask but honestly you really should wait it out. Sometimes being induced will make labor go a lot long then if you don't progress you do take the chance of getting a c-section. Granted that can also happen if you go in to labor naturally.

You can ask and as long as it's only 7 days before your due date, most doc's will do it for you. Also, it's your body your baby your insurance paying the bill and you should be able to make whatever decision you want. It's not like you're asking at 36-37 weeks, you've clearly thought about your baby and yourself so go forth and be induced-if you want!!

My doctor wouldn't do it for me. I didn't ask. But he didn't give me a chance to ask lol he told me the risk of having a c section is really high for first time moms. Idk if you're a first time mom tho. I have a friend who was due the same day as I was and she got induced at 39 weeks. And she was in labor a looooong time. And then pushed for a loooong time and nothing happened. So they had to do a c section. Then her spinal didn't work. So they had to put her under. She didn't get to see her baby for 3 hours. That scared me enough lol I didn't care how much pain I was in....the thought of not seeing my baby for three hours sounds awful.
