Tf?? I need help

Okay so I’m 14. I’ve wanted to get a checkup for my lady bits for a while now in order to know that I’m healthy and balanced. I sometimes get a smell (not strong but weird because it frequently changes) and I wanted to talk to a gynecologist in order to try to figure out what the problem was. Today my mom had a Pap smear so I asked her if she could set up a appointment for me to be checked as I said just to make sure I was doing well. She told the gynecologist and the lady told her I don’t need to have check ups until I’m over 20 and if i wanted to get a checkup it was probably because I wanted to start my sexual life. I know that it makes sense but I was really trying to get it figured out and now the gynecologist has my mom thinking I’m trying to have sex. I’m pretty confused too because a sex Ed teacher came and talked to us a while back and said that even if you’re under 20 you should still go in every once in a while to get a check up. Am I tripping?
