Have you or anyone you know got pregnant with paragard IUD?

Question

I got the paragard placed about a week and a half ago... I am 13 weeks postpartum and my husband and I had sex about 3 days after the placement and he finished inside of me. I recently heard of some stories about women becoming pregnant on the paragard iud and now I am freaking out

I did! 
It was a terrible pregnancy. I had to keep it in because of the risks of taking it out while pregnant. I bled on and off the whole 40 weeks. It’s rare it would happen but it did.

Paragard is effective immediately and used for emergency contraception. You should be ok. Do your monthly string checks after your periods.
