What age did you turn your convertible from rear facing to forward facing?

I know it's based on weight but the weight range greatly overlaps. How old was you little one when you changed car seat to forward facing?

Depending on where you live, the minimum is 2 years old. We plan on maxing out the rear facing limits of her seat before we turn our daughter around because it’s safer for her. So she will be rear facing until she’s either 50lbs or 49” tall

1 & 24#. Because it’s legal to put them forward facing at one here. If you’re gonna bitch at me for not waiting til 2, don’t even bother to preach safety to me. Ik the recommendations but my daughter is going through the whole ‘I’m going to go hysterical if you’re not in view’ stage.

My daughter is 19 months and I have no plan to more her anytime soon. She’ll stay like that until she is 3 if it still works out. Her safety is paramount

Our car seat rear faces up to 50 pounds or 50" and our daughter won't be switching to forward facing until then. No exceptions. She's in the 99th percentile for height as well and had to switch to a convertible seat at 4 months old. She's now 17 months and the size of a 2-year-old. We bought her a car seat that will accommodate her height (Graco Extend2Fit) so she can rear face comfortably. Her safety is my #1 concern and there are zero benefits to switching them to forward facing before then.

I turned my son on his 3rd birthday. He was 35 pounds, 41 inches tall (with very long legs) and he had maxed out the height limit on his convertible car seat. I hated to do it, too, because I know how much safer it is to wait but I couldn't justify spending $200+ on another car seat that would only last us a year.

I switched my first two kids at about a year, but now PA law says they have to stay backwards until 2. I will be switching her to forward facing at 2.
