Announcing to step kids
Back story, I had two kids from a previous marriage and my husband had 5 kids. My husband adopted my two kids as their bio dad had nothing to do with them at all since the birth of my 2nd.
We have a baby together so all together we have 8 kids.
My step kids live two hours away, we get them most of the summer and holidays. But they are at ages that they would rather be with their friends.
The oldest is 18 living with her 16 year old boyfriend 🙄 she moved out of her nana’s house immediately after graduating. He has no job, his family is trash. Ugh it’s just a crap situation, she thinks we are all going to try to talk her out of it so she doesn’t come around. We stopped trying to talk sense into her when she turned 18 and she knows that.
Thanks to their mom, the 15 year old practically lives with his “rich” aunt. Cause she has the money to drive two hours to our town every weekend to go to nice restaurants and take him to Disney world and wild adventures etc. Only him. So he wants nothing to do with our boring house or his mom’s.
The rest of the kids are great.
So here’s the issue. I have always tried to include the kids in everything, I want family pics done and its with all of them. If one or two can’t make it, we always STATE in our posts (cause these kids are all about social media) that we are missing x y or z from the crew.
I want to do a nice pregnancy announcement as we are expecting again and I’d love to have the kids involved. I already know the 15 year old won’t come and will end up bitching about not being in the picture (yay teenage logic 🙄) the likelihood of the 18 year old coming slim to none.
That leaves me with 3 girls and our other 3. I kind of want to do a “Older Sibling Training” picture. But I also feel so iffy cause the are siblings missing then that feeling just grows when I try any other idea as well. I want every one of our kids to be celebrated and announced in a special way. So I’m kinda stuck. Any ideas also I’m sorry if this is posted in the wrong group
