Is it ok to throw yourself a baby shower?

So here's my situation...

I have 2 wonderful boys, a 1yr old and a 2yr old, and am currently pregnant with our first girl due in November. Just before we were surprised with this pregnancy, we had sold almost everything that didn't fit into our vehicle and moved across country to raise our kids closer to my husband's family. I haven't really met anyone or made close friends here yet, and we obviously don't have anything for a girl since this is our first. One of my husband's cousins asked me to please have a shower so she can buy things for the baby, but no one has offered to throw one for me. Isn't it taboo and seemingly greedy to host your own?

Where I am from having multiple baby showers is NOT tacky whether you throw it or someone else does. Every baby deserves to be celebrated. Just do it to your comfort. I don't get how celebrating a new life is tacky ?

I think it's tacky enough to have a baby shower for your third child, but to throw it yourself is even worse. I suggest you save some money and buy your own baby stuff. Don't ask for hand outs.

I think each baby should have a baby shower I guess the thirs baby is supposed to only have used things nothing new there are a bunch of prudes around if people dont like that its your third shower noone said they have to come

No, I am considering throwing my own too! In my point of view, a baby shower doesn't have to be a party all about you, but can be a thank you for all those that want to pitch in with the baby. Since friends and family want to pitch in and help us buy baby stuff, I want to treat everyone to a nice brunch at a tea room in town as a thank you. Don't see how it's tacky

Maybe save the money you'd spend on your own shower and buy baby items at a consignment shop?

Go for it! I don't see how it's tacky in any way. I am very fortunate to live close to family and friends, my mom will be throwing mine (my 2nd baby). My son was born 5 years ago, and unfortunately, plenty of our baby gear got ruined in our garage that we had to share with our neighbors. We plan on buying most of the big stuff and just registering the small stuff. Every baby is a blessing and deserves a shower ❤️ Good luck!!!

I think throwing your own is tacky. I also think showers for 2nd 3rd 4th etc babies is tacky. Save up some money. You won't need loads

Why does she need a shower in order to buy you a gift? Honestly I think with your kids being so young, and the fact that you chose to sell everything, would make another shower tacky. Just my opinion though.
