Anyone taking lexapro?

I take it and it helps me soooooo much. Don't judge, but I don't want to stop it. Anyone else taking this and have had input from their doctor? I go for my first prenatal tomorrow.

I have anxiety that manifests physically, to the point where I was feeling like I was being choked every day, all day. This has been going on for the years and I got to the point where I thought I wasn't going to be able to have a baby because all the mess I tried were just quick fixes like Klonopin and big no-no's during pregnancy. My dr has been really supportive of finding solutions that would allow me to be pregnant without feeling like I was dying and she suggested Lexapro. Although not without it's risks, it's one of those mess that hasn't had enough tests to be certain either way. I know being on these types of meds while pregnant is not ideal, but my dr and I weighed the risks, talked a looooooooot over years, and finally decided to stick with it. It's has changed my life and I don't plan on going off of it while pregnant. Yes, I am worried things will go wrong because of it, but I also know that constant physical would hurt my baby too. My OB is very supportive of me staying on it, but we will try to go down a dose throughout my pregnancy. Long story short, people can judge about meds during pregnancy, but anxiety/depression also affects the baby and I have enough medical advice on my side to make me feel confident in my choice. 😊 I hope this really loooooong response helped.

I was taking celexa before I got pregnant & my dr, instructed me to continue taking it while pregnant. Something about it being a level 2 drug for pregnancy. So maybe not the best, but not many know side effects either. My depression can get terrible if I'm not treating with medication. So you have to do what your gut tells you & what feels best for you & baby.
My first pregnancy I wasn't taking anything & I literally cried almost everyday & sometimes I didn't even know why. This time, I've cried maybe twice so far, but it was happy tears and worry some tears!

I was told that it was not okay for me to take during pregnancy. That being said, they may not want you to stop it until after the first trimester.
