Dentist for toddler.... when?

My daughter is 17 month and she’s just about got all her teeth in except the canines. We have tried the practice toothpaste but when should I take her to dentist? I’ve heard 3 years and then I’ve heard first couple teeth...

Pleeeease do not wait until 3 years. Babies CAN get cavities and it's so important to establish good, dental hygiene early on. Our daughter is also 17 months and went to the dentist for the first time when she was 12 months.

I keep seeing people take their kids  soon after they get teeth, or by 1. 🤔
 I asked my dentist  about it and he said its not necessary to do until 3 or 4 unless you suspect a problem.  My dental insurance wont cover a visit until 3.

I asked my dentist at my last appointment (which was a couple weeks ago) and he said they usually recommend bringing a child in within 6 months (or around 6 months) after they get their first tooth.

my pediatrician just said around 3 is when they reccomend. I'll probably take my daughter at 2. she's 15 months now and still doesn't have a lot of teeth though. if she had more id consider going sooner
