Is this normal? He claims it is. We have a 5 week old and whenever he cries he gives the baby to me. I am with our son 24/7 and sometimes I would love a break also. I can’t even leave to run a quick errand unless I put the baby to bed so my husband doesn’t have to deal with him (he says the baby always cries for him and he can’t calm him down. I’ve tried to teach him how to soothe but he isn’t a very patient person). I just feel most dads are so involved and helpful and it makes me sad.

He has also slept on the couch the last few nights since he can’t handle the baby crying or making noise in the night. He has to work so I get it but it still sucks and is lonely for me. First time parents.
