It goes based off the number of days for your cycle. There is always two weeks from when you ovulated to when you should start your next period. So if you have a short cycle then you ovulate sooner.

How long are your cycles? The first part of your cycle (follicular phase) leading up to ovulation can vary pretty widely, whereas the second part of your cycle after ovulation is pretty consistently 10-16 days long. So if your cycle are a little shorter it is totally feasible for ovulation to occur pretty quickly after your period. The luteal phase has to stay pretty constant so there is time for the egg to travel to the uterus and implant before your period would start. If was too short the fertilized egg would just get washe out with AF. :)

Mine is the same way.  Three days after I stop my period it says I'm fertile.
