Hey, I have pcos and my doctor guessed I had 25+ follicles. Had retrieval last Monday and retrieved 31eggs and 24were mature.
How many follicles did you produce with IVF?
Hello ladies, Iv had 10 days of menopur and today I will start cetrotide aswell. They’ve been closely monitoring me because of the risk of hyperstimulation as I have PCOS. My scan today showed 24 follicles on each ovary and the big ones are between 11-12mm but ideally they would like it between 14-15mm. What has been your experience?

Also one more little tip, it’s silly but if you can any avoid any discomfort why not- only thing I wish I had done was shave/wax the hair around my arms where they put the IV( when they remove the IV and all the tape it sticks to the hair so bad and taking it off was annoyingly painful lol

The retrievel procedure itself is nothing to be worried about. Getting the IV is like doing your regular bloodwork (if you’re squeamish don’t look because you will see some blood). After that you’ll go to the procedure room and they’ll put you into a deep sleep(you won’t feel anything) when you get out in about 15-40 minutes(depends on how many eggs you have to retrieve you’ll be a little loopy for a few minutes and crampy. In my case I’ve been suffering from quite a pain of pain and cramping but that’s because my doctor has told me I had so many follicles and there was barely any room for them in my body as they grew that big(even before the procedure I was extremely bloated and uncomfortable. Anyway before you go it make sure you have a bunch of Gatorade, painkillers(I was given prescription strength) and stool softeners(so glad my nurse told me because I couldn’t go for 3days) try not to panic you’ll be OK I promise 💕

That’s so good! How was the retrieval process? I’m having egg retrieval tomorrow and feeling quite nervous x
I don’t have pcos, but was/is at risk for the OHSS because of high AMH... today was my first scan after starting follistim last Saturday and all my follicles were 12-13mm... I go back Friday and it sounds like retrieval will be next week

I’ve been only five days on stimulants with the maximum dose and so far in the last ultrasound they counted 11 eggs among both ovaries then I started cetrotide What should I prescribed me for other five days together with the stimulants so in total that would be 10 days on Saturday then I’ll let you know how it went. Did they tell you how many eggs you had on day five of the stimulants?
