Boy trouble

I have been talking to this guy, not in a relationship, and he keeps getting jealous of my friend(who is a boy). Even though I've told him so many times that he shouldn't worry he keeps getting angry at me and my friend. Though he is very special to me I decided to take a break because I didn't want to ruin my friendship with my friend. He was also trying to make me choose beteeen them and I couldn't do that. Now he keeps guilt tripping me and begging me to come back, sometimes I think about going back to him. Ive heard many bad things about dating this guy though. All my friends dont like us together. I really don't know what to do, can someone please help?
