So I am eligable with my employer for short term disability. (Up to 12 weeks) I planned on taking that full 12 weeks off post baby. I gave the paperwork back from my OB today and they put 6-8 weeks post birth. When I asked if I can have more time I was told this was the standard I'm quite sure I will be able to be off for 12 weeks but I was hoping to receive STD benefits the whole time I was off. Any suggestion on how to handle this? Or know what I should do? Help!
