Any surgical tech moms?

Any moms a surgical tech, whats your pay and life like? Starting my classes in January! Already did majority of the pre reqs

My brother is one! He makes 20$ hr. He loves it. He work 12-18hrs. 3 days out of the weeks. He is schooling/training to becoming a heart surgeon.

Im a Surg Tech! But not a mom yet. I graduated in 2017. And havent found a job yet within an hour of me. Some of my classmates still havent either. And some had to move away to find a job. The pay where I live starts out around $13 or $14 an hour. Schedules differ from place to place. Where I did clinicals they worked Monday through Friday from 7 until around 4 or so. If anything went later then that then the persons on call took over. You had to have call hours also. In bigger cities with bigger hospitals they will have a day shift and night shift. So there basically is no call.

$17-26/hour in my area. It’s a good program and is always in demand in large cities, so definitely a good choice. You’ll want to focus on working at surgical centers.
Radiology/C Arm Techs can make at least 50k/year and it doesn’t take as long to complete. More bang for your buck if you were curious of other options.
