Has anyone had one embryo transferred and it split?!

This question lingers on my mind since day 1 of starting ivf. We are transferring one and I’ve heard “stories” on other support groups where one embryo splits to identical. My RE said I have a 5% chance of that happening.

I know a woman who that happened to. The drs said it was only like a 1% chance and now she has 2 gorgeous twin boys.

I know quite a few people that had this happen with blast transfers.  I have been in the IVF world for 11 years now and there is definitely a higher chance of identical twins with IVF vs natural pregnancy.  AH and ISCI also increase the odds.  Research studies in the US have consistently shown an significant increase of identical twins with IVF for the past 15 years.  That being said it’s still only at 5%.  I know two couples that ended up with quads from transferring two.

Do you feel that IVF yields more girls than boys? A study I read found they were about  the same with slightly more boys

I asked my RE he said stats show only 2% do - same as general population- however it feels like it’s more anecdotally -
