My aunt and uncle are actually going through this.. he cheated on her over 20 years ago but forgot about it. He kissed someone while he was drinking (or made out with her) but remembered it not too long ago and told her about it. She’s staying with him but I just wonder what others would do in this situation 🤔

The only thing that would make me throw away a 42 year marriage is if that person became abusive. Everything else can be worked on.

My question is how he ‘forgot’ he kissed another woman? All I’m thinking is that he hid it for 20 years and then told her when he figured enough time had passed so that she’d be less likely to leave him. For me, that lie would be the worst part. You don’t forget something like that for 20 years and then suddenly remember it. 
I’d consider leaving. Cheating and abuse are the two things I’d walk away from my marriage for. And that lie would make his cheating so much worse.

Couldn't say what I would do.
Whatever works. Depends on if I felt I could trust him. Trust is everything in a relationship, so without it there is really no reason to be together. But if I felt like I could trust him I might as well try and work it out.
