Do I really need a fancy baby monitor?

We have a video monitor that syncs to your phone already (for monitoring pets haha) and I'm wondering - what benefit is there to getting one that's specifically designed for babies? Our house is tiny, ranch style (one floor) if that makes any difference. TIA!

I would say that as long as your monitor has a video and audio capability, it’s fine. You don’t have to go out and get a new one. One thing you do have to remember though with the ones that go through your phone is that they can be hacked. That means anyone can see your baby, even talk to your baby. I preferred to get a secure video monitor for only that purpose.

We have a cheap one we bought on Amazon and it works perfectly. Having a camera that you can control with your phone is so convenient. As long as your “pet camera” has night vision it should be fine!

That monitor will work just fine. We don't use a baby monitor. We have straight security cameras that sync up with our phone too. Works perfect.
