To decorate a baby nursery or not too?

We have been discussing whether we want to do a nursery when baby comes (TTC No1), it's exciting to think of doing one, but I know baby will be Co sleeping/cot will be in our room with us so feel it may not be worth the expense. Curious what other mothers have done. I know alot of women who Co sleep but have a glorious room created that's barely used. Is it Not worth more if we wait till baby is older and they lean towards something they like then do up a room then? In saying this though, it's exciting to see all these nurseries and I do have ideas lol, but on the fence with this one.
What do you ladies think? And what have you done?

I had a lot of fun decorating the nursery. Baby slept in our room for the first few months but after he outgrew his bassinet we moved him to his crib. Even when he was still sleeping in our room, we used his room for naps, diaper changes, feeding, reading to him, etc. For us the nursery is one of the most used rooms in the house. The furniture will grow with him, the crib becomes a toddler bed, then full size bed and the changing top on the dresser is removable. Beyond the bed/dresser, I didn’t spend that much money. I used stuff I already had, shopped for deals and made stuff myself. I spent under $200 on decor, bedding, etc.

Our baby will sleep in a bassinet for some time. I ordered her furniture anyway. No "baby-design", but nice, elegant stuff that she can use forever. After 6-12 months we'll move her.
But no way am I going to have a toddler chose furniture 😎  she can chose her bed-sheets if she behaves 😉

It was so fun to design and I think totally worth it regardless of sleeping arrangements for the early stages. I got a convertible crib that converts all the way to a full size bed so it will be used for years. I also did wall designs that aren’t extremely baby-like, so they can be used in her toddler room too and half of them I’ll reuse if she doesn’t want them in her room when it’s redesigned. I went ahead and put a reading nook area in there too which she won’t use by herself until she’s older. There’s a lot you can do that’s targeted towards a toddler so your original design will last a long time. 
I have a free wall to add lesson plans to because I intend to do Montessori style lessons at home instead of putting her into daycare ☺️

Our room is too small for anything other than a Moses basket, so we’ve had no choice but to have a baby room! We see it as a long term investment as the decor is also neutral so it’s good if we also have another one in the future 🙂
