Which would you recommend?

very indecisive about the shot and the patch .. i’m leaning towards the shot more than anything but your comments and feedback of different opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I personally go for the iuds. I prefer hormone free and paragard works great. If you want something you don’t have to remember every day/week/few months I’d go that route.

I got the implant in my arm, and it slow down my period which I love, get it for like 1 day and it goes away

I suggest the pill if you do not yet know how your body will react to hormones, since the pill you can easily stop taking yourself if you need to. I had an arm implant for a little over a year (which is progestin only, same as the shot and I think the patch). I had terrible physical side effects (constant bleeding) and even worse emotional side effects (depression and anxiety). I had previously taken the progestin only mini-pill for years, and had few side effects with those. Doctors told me that the hormonal methods that last longer or are inserted far away from the uterus (everything but the pill and IUD I think) have higher levels of hormones, and therefore have a higher risk of negative side effects.

So far I’m loving my patch. I’ve had the iud before, I liked it but didn’t like the irregular bleeding.

If u do the shot any side effects you have you can’t reverse it and the iud causes scar tissue to form inside around it for being left in for a few years and your not supposed to till after u have had kids patch doctors don’t like to prescribe any more cuz of blood clots... best bet is pill and even condoms as well on thoes days You missed a pill or feel unsure
