When my daughter first started daycare, I told them that she usually eats every 3-4 hours but if she was hungry sooner it was ok to feed her. I found out yesterday that they have been waiting until the 3 hour mark no matter what.

When I came to pick her up yesterday she was sitting on the floor crying almost hysterically and the teacher said “she’s probably hungry because it’s almost that time” I didn’t know what to say in the moment so we just left.

She has been going there for almost 4 months now, they should know her hunger cues by now. I feel like they have pretty much been starving her because it wasn’t time to eat yet.

It’s also probably part of the reason why she wants to eat constantly all evening and 3-5 times a night because she’s not getting enough during the day. (We send 3 bottles for a 9 hour day and she usually only gets 2 of them.)

How do I go about telling them they can feed her more often without them ending up feeding her every time she cries
