Soo I just did my annual exam at the gyn and the results from the pap smear were “abnormal”. She said it likely came from a low grade HPV. Im honestly so scared. I feel like this is a death sentence. I feel terrible like I can never have sex again and I dont feel comfortable venting to anyone about this 😭.  Should I just not have sex anymore? I dont even know how to safely have sex now.

HPV is not a death sentence, 90% of women get hpv in their life at some point and it usually clears itself without 18months, there’s 100s of strains and only two bad ones, which a simple test can confirm. It’s likely you’ll just need more regular paps until it clears

This happen to me too, so I get it girl. You can continue having sex but you have to limit your sex partners, also they usually wait until you test again a year after the first one and see if the results are the same. My obg recommended for me to take folic acids as well but 800 milligrams. And when I tested again everything was fine. See if that helps, and ask your doctor to give you more information on the matter.

Okay first you don’t know for sure that it’s HPV. So before you feel like it’s a death sentence find out for sure. And also plenty of people have sex with STIs you just need to ask your doc about what treatment options you have to reduce the chance of transferring it to partners
