Or I guess, is it polite/proper etiquette? We'll be telling people before we do it, and then we'll have a party afterwards to celebrate us being married (that we're paying for of course!). I wouldn't plan one myself, but if family members wanted to throw one for me I wouldn't object.. Is it customary when having a wedding to throw your own bridal shower? Or are other people supposed to do it for you? I feel like if you do it it comes off as being selfish or just wanting things. Thoughts?
