Water birth in the hospital?

So I'm 18+6 today with my first and I'm curious about something.. is it possible to have a water birth in the hospital? I ask because o dont want to get the epidural.

It really depends on the hospital you give birth in. My hospital has tubs that you can labor in but you have to get out when it’s time to push. It’s their policy and all hospitals are different.

My hospital doesn’t allow water births and neither did the previous one I had my son at. Don’t let it discourage you or be scared. I had natural birth no meds and it was all good. Didn’t need a water birth. No complications and no tearing last time. Yes it hurt, during transition I cried and threw up. But then suddenly I was ready to push and I felt like the queen of the world. The nurses and OB didn’t know what to make of it. I told jokes between my pushing contractions and laughed when it was funny. My water burst out during a contraction and splashed all over the shoes of the staff and I about died laughing. The student nurses watched because they had never seen someone like that without meds apparently. 🤷‍♀️😆 our bodies are amazing.

If there is one at your hospital and you are low risk then it’s fine. Depends how many they have as it’s first come first serve so if you request one but someone got in first then it’s not an option

In the UK you can? Some hospitals had midwife only led units with birthing pools. Your midwife should have already advised you? I would ask them or call your local hospital? They always offer a tour a few weeks before your due date.
