Anonymous male friend

Hey, so I had a friend I met on an anonymous app. He knew my entire life story, and I knew his. We were both married at the time and he helped me through my divorce and me finding my soul mate.

But I lost the app during an phone upgrade, and I haven’t talked to him in 2 years almost. But I wonder about him and how he’s doing. He had gone through a horrible tragedy right before we lost contact. I do have his phone number.

Would it be wrong for me to contact him? Or should I just let it go?

My husband doesn’t know about him either. Even though my husband has nothing to worry about, and my friend put a lot of our struggles into perspective for me and helped us through our issues in the beginning. I would tell my husband if I were to contact him, just not sure if I should?
