So I'm positive for GBS (group b strep) and already terrified of my baby getting infected in the womb and being stillborn. Now for two days I've been losing my mucus plug. Since the plug is supposed to be a barrier against bacteria, I'm incredibly scared this will cause the infection to spread to my baby. I sent a message for my doctor and called nurse triage and they said I dont need to do anything differently but after spending about 2 hours reading horror stories of GBS causing stillbirth or horrible illness, I'm going crazy. Has anyone else's doctor said anything about losing your mucus plug with GBS? Should I go to the hospital anyway? 37+4 by the way.
