SO i’ve been on nexplanon for 3 years and for the past 8ish months i’ve been experiencing dryness. I’m only 21 so this is worrying to me. I love my boyfriend to death and it’s definitely not that he doesn’t turn me on, but lately i haven’t been able to get as wet as i used to. i’m getting my nexplanon replaced tomorrow because it’s expired. could replacing it help with the dryness?

Every woman's body reacts differently on nexplanon. Both my best friend and I have it, and we have wildly different reactions. For example, she has periods every 4-5 months for 4 days apiece. I have been getting periods every 4-5 days for a week at a time! There's no way to guarantee how your body will react to the birth control.

Any kind for hormonal changes can cause vaginal dryness. If the implant is working otherwise, I'd say to just invest in a good lubricant. It has nothing to do with not being around, just hormones. I went through the same thing and had to get lube. It was worth the peace of mind that the implant gave me.
