I’m 36 weeks + 2 days and had my appt today. The doctor checked and said I’m already 1 cm dilated and my husbands face was priceless. He immediately asked so what now and it’s soon isn’t it. My due date is Dec 10th so he was shocked.

It’s our first so we are both excited and nervous but while I’ve been trying to get everything ready and prepared he keeps saying don’t worry we have time. So hearing that i started to dilate struck him hard.

Of course doctor laughed and said she can be that way for weeks so we just have to see next week what happens.

So after i called my mom. She started to ask if she needed to leave tonight and head over to our place since she’s supposed to be here for the birth! I couldn’t help but laugh. Said no, give it time. She had told me to let her know at 2cm but i guess the fact there is any was a surprise. But just think it’s funny how now reality is hitting.

Anyone else starting to dilate or family finally realizing baby is close to coming?
