Flying with a toddler ?

I have a one and a half year old. It’s not a long flight by any means. Literally going two states over but my mom insist we fly. How does it work ?

It’s preferred that you buy Baby their own seat and use their car seat 1. Because it’s safer obviously if you want them contained and safe in a moving vehicle you want them contained in a moving plane, it’s not only safer for them but also safer for you and everyone else on board because your child can become a huge flying object if you were to hit bad turbulence or god forbid anything else. 2. They usually sleep better in their car seat and are easily contained. 3. Checking your car seat at the gate and having it travel with luggage can cause damage to the seat that can go unseen and then the seat might not function if you got into a future accident posing a risk to your child.
As for tips to keep them happy, lots of snacks, a coloring or activity or sticker book that they haven’t seen yet so it’s new to them, and a couple toys that they haven’t seen or played with so it keeps their attention longer.

Answer

You either buy a ticket so he has his own seat or he’s a lap child. You bring books, snacks, and toys to keep him occupied.
