Exclusively breastfeeding, ovulating 7 weeks pp?!

So I had my DD 7 weeks ago exactly. I exclusively breastfeed and have an oversupply so I also pump twice a day and get about 6-7oz from each pump session. Today I got egg white cervical mucus, which was always a clear sign of ovulation while trying to conceive. Isn’t this kind of strange/early to potentially be having cycles again? Anyone else have a similar experience or insight for me? Thank you!!!

Yes it is strange / abnormal when exclusively breastfeeding, but not impossible. It’s more likely to happen if your baby is good at sleeping longer bouts... with my first baby I didn’t ovulate until 9 months pp, this time around it happened around 3 months (because she is sleeping for longer periods of time without milk). “They say” that you need to consistently breastfeed, through the night as well in order to most likely not ovulate and get period back.
