Cluster feeding for 5 minutes??

Question

No joke since 8pm, he has ate 6-8 times but he only stays on for 5 minutes. He’s not getting full enough to stay asleep more than 45 min-hour. Is this still cluster feeding if he’s barely eating anything? Last time he cluster fed, he still ate close to the normal amount of time.

I’m in the exact same situation as you. My Little one seems to be using it for comfort. My midwife recommended feeding and try to get them to stay awake, then do something like change their nappy or change clothes, then go back and feed on the other boob. We tried to go out for walks just after feeding so she tries to learn to go longer without needing to eat but this only worked when moving constantly. As soon as we had to be still, like when we registered her birth, she screamed for food throughout. She’s 2 weeks and a day today so I’m hoping she will learn over time to try and eat more before falling asleep
