Hi everyone! So I am 9 weeks, 4 days today. I had my first ultrasound yesterday. The tech had found one “viable” gestational sac with a healthy fetus measuring only a couple of days off of my suspected dates, along with a second gestational sac which she said was not viable. She spent a lot of time pushing on my belly and moving things around to make sure there was nothing in sac 2. She said there was no heartbeat, no fetal pole, no fetus, couldn’t even find a yolk sac. My husband and I were trying, so I know the exact date of my last period and how far along I should be (which baby a matches perfectly). Has this happened to anybody else? They told me there’s no chance of a baby popping up in the second sac and that my body should just absorb it. Most likely it started as a twin but nothing developed. But I’m freaking out reading stories online about how a baby finally pops up on a later ultrasound. Has anybody else ever had an empty second gestational sac?!
